Born and raised in Wollongong, DJ Force has been listening to Hip Hop music since 1989, when as a 9 year old kid started collecting tapes of such artist as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, NWA, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest just to name a few. At the age of 17, Force decided to try his skills on the wheels of steel and became a DJ making mix tapes, supporting visiting crews and performing the occasional club spot in the Wollongong and Sydney area. After years of mastering his craft, he joined an emcee named T Boogie Ray to start the crew The Stimulations and sought out beats from local beat makers. Unable to get beats from local producers he decided to try his hand at making his own beats. His first effort “Steel City Rappin” was released on the 2001 Argonauts Album “The Journey”. The second beat he ever produced was also featured on that album, a DJ track called “At Home”. “Steel City Rappin” was well received with Triple J playing the track during daytime programming. Not a bad effort for the first beat he ever made. After the release, Force has produced exclusively for Sonny Syah however not releasing anything. DJ Force has produced all but one of the track for thr soon to be released’ Sonnt Syah Album “The Envelope: An audio Motion Picture” which features Fame, 13th Son, Trey, Steve Carfino and many more. He has been DJing in clubs for over 10 years and most recently held a residency at the Bustin’ nights in Wollongong. He has supported both local and international acts such as Koolism, The Herd, Bias B, Funkoars, Celsius, Reason, Katalyst, Aceyalone (USA), Mystro (UK) and many more over the years and is well respected in the Wollongong and Sydney Hip Hop scene for his ability to get a crowd moving. Keep a look out for the DJ Force debut release this year featuring O.C., Al-Shid and Sonny Syah.
