EK is Eddie Rasguido. He was raised in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, where Hip Hop is the staple diet of most teenagers.
How did you get into the scene, tell us about Rocksonics?
Rocksonics was my first hip hop group, we used to tag the name up but we shortened it to RKS to make it easier. We were shit at graffiti so we focused on music (After such a long time we’re hoping to get out an RKS ep early next year). From those early hip hop days I then got into some electronic music and ended up at breaks and it’s all kinda gone from there.
You tasted success early in your career with a 2nd place in the group category in the DMC championships, how did you take it to the next level?
Ha ha, I don’t think I’ve taken it to the next level. That was a very long time ago. Some of the DJs today like J-Red are crazy; the stuff they do is awesome. But, from DJing i did get into production and I think that’s a kinda progression from DJing.
