Started in Year
After exploding into the spotlight in 2014, rapper IVAN OOZE has become the name in hip hop turning heads and helping to bring in this new wave of local rap that has been championed nationwide. In less than twelve months, IVAN OOZE has proved his weight and his worth as one of the hardest working artists in the country, embarking on a record breaking 45 show regional tour with Seth Sentry and Dylan Joel, supporting Azealia Banks, Ice Cube and Cypress Hill nationally as well as performing with locals Allday, Illy and the Thundamentals.
Not only has IVAN OOZE brought his high energy live to show to every city in the country, but the past year has seen the release of his EP Ringwood Rich and his much acclaimed mixtape The Social Alien, both releases gaining OOZE major support from industry and music media alike, and garnered the rapper a string of new accolades and fans and simultaneously showing his older fans that he is more than just the fast flow viral freestyle sensation that they had come to love.
Borrowing his alias from his favourite Mighty Morphin Power Rangers villain and part of the new breed of hip hop music that is taking the country by storm, IVAN OOZE is pushing the boundaries and connecting with his audience. His previous two singles Trippin’ and Jimi Hendrix have seen him cement his social media hype into legitimate industry buzz, achieving support from more than his fair share of media and other figures.
The second half of 2015 sees OOZE prepare to drop his third single Fire, which is a bass heavy party starter and a step in a different direction, one that complements the high level of energy experienced at an IVAN OOZE show. Not one to slow down, he will be touring nationally in support of Fire throughout October. Do yourself a favour – bring a spare tee.
“I called the mixtape ’93 KFC Rotisserie Gold’ because back in 1993 KFC were the first ever fast food chain to advertise a rotisserie chicken in the world. It was basically a game changer in the fast food world.
“The chicken was known to be packed with a whole new flavour, left a customer satisfied yet still hungry for more and boosted their popularity. I feel like what I am doing and what I have accomplished (so far) in the Australian hip hop scene matches up quite well with how the chicken was received to the public,”
